Abstract
This film documents rescue operations for the Liberian freighter Francisco Morazan which left Chicago on November 27, 1960, and ran aground amid fog and snow near South Manitou Island.
Description
This film begins with aerial footage that documents rescue operations for the Francisco Morazan. After having been rescued, the Captain’s wife Anistasia is shown sitting in a Coast Guard office expressing relief. The film concludes with more aerial footage of the marooned ship. Those rescued included the captain, his wife, and a crew of 13.
