Abstract
The Turning Points: America In the Twentieth Century; this episode of the television series chronicles the desegregation of the University of Alabama.
Description
This production narrates events leading up to the University of Alabama’s enrollment of its first two African American students, Vivian Malone, and James Hood, and incorporates speeches and conflicting viewpoints concerning desegregation by Governor George Wallace, President John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert Shelton. Voiceover narration throughout provides context to the images depicted onscreen.
