Abstract
Children’s short based on a west-coast Indian legend explaining how the loon, a waterbird, got its necklace of white feathers. Ceremonial masks carved by the Indians of British Columbia establish the characters of the story and portray the Indian's sensitivity to the moods of nature. Performers act in mask and costume against cartoon background. The National Museum of Canada provided the masks carved by Indians of the British Columbia coast for this production.
