Abstract
A documentary film on the life and career of Beverly Bayne, an early silent film star whose marquee name was key to the success of Essanay Studios in Chicago in the early 1900s. The film traces her marriage to Francis X. Bushman, a fellow film star, as well as her eventual retirement in Arizona. The film features narration written by Grisham, voiced by Beverly herself. Grisham, who also directed the film, makes a brief appearance introducing the work at the very beginning. This is the third trial print of The Beautiful Lady – earlier cuts were tentatively titled The Lovely Lady. The film was never released due to an inability to find a suitable distributor.
