Abstract
This film about amebiasis and amoebic dysentery was produced by Mervin W. LaRue, Inc. Medical Motion Pictures for an audience of medical professionals. It consists of expository intertitles and may have been distributed under the title “Amebiasis: Infestation with Endamoeba histolitica.” Content of the film includes three textual descriptions of amebiasis case studies, with symptoms, treatment, and outcomes for each patient. The majority of the film consists of microscopic footage of amoeba in stool specimen samples, filmed “in the private laboratory of Thomas L. Dagg,” using a specially designed, electrically heated microscope stage.
