Abstract
This Harry Mantel Vignette presents scenes from the Wisconsin State Fair. This quickly edited footage captures crowds of people meandering through the fairgrounds reveling in a variety of state fair food, amusement rides and sporting events.
Description
The footage opens to a welcome sign titled ‘Wisconsin State Fair’. The film goes on to portray swaths of people strolling through the fair grounds under the blazing sun. The following sequence of images feature a couple leisurely walking hand in hand, children enjoying cotton candy and corn on the cob. Memebrs of the U.S. national guard are briefly pictured as well as patrons engaging in a variety of carnival games.
Next, the footage quickly portrays a rambunctious marching band in a parade before changing scenes to an arena where a car race is taking place.The footage concludes with evening depictions of the spinning carnival rides decorated in colorful, flickering lights.
