Abstract
This Harry Mantel Vignette, set to fast-paced country music, provides a quick portrayal of the 21st National Square Dance Convention in Iowa.
Description
The footage opens to a brightly lit interior where the square dance convention is taking place. Before the performance, people can be seen conversing in groups. Commentors on a stage are briefly shown speaking into microphones before the footage switches to a wide shot of a crowded ballroom. Everyone is captured in traditional square dance attire; women are seen in full, short gowns and men in long sleeved shirts and short neck ties.
