Set to a jazzy soundtrack, this short film captures a monkey habitat at a Chicago zoo. Includes scenes of visitors admiring the monkeys and their activities.
Abstract
Funded in part by Encyclopedia Brittanica, these short spots were directed by local cameraman, producer, and journalist Harry Mantel – most likely for public television broadcast. These films are portraits he constructed of the city and its people. This particular reel contains the following vignettes: “Art Fair”, “Fire”, “Air Traffic Controller”, “Waiters”, “Monkeys”, “Flower Conservatory[?]” and “Circus”.
