Description
The film opens with scenes from a formal dinner for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Men and women in fancy dress are seated around round tables with white tablecloths. The next scene shows Mick Kelleher, Ray Burris, and Dave Kingman laughing together as they sit at a table before switching to a close-up shot of manager Herman Franks, who smiles uneasily at the camera.
In the next scene, Dave Kingman speaks to a reporter about how players and managers deal with hitting slumps. After some more shots of the dining room, Bobby Murcer speaks to the camera about the importance of a good pitching team along with a strong offense and defense.
There are some more shots of Bobby Murcer, Dave Kingman, Ray Burris, Rick Reuschel, and Mick Kelleher standing and posing. The films ends with Dave Kingman opining on the role of the manager in a winning ball club. He relates that some managers have understood him, some didn't, but he feels he has a good relationship with manager Herman Franks.
