Description
This footage includes two boxing matches set up at the Palmer House on the Wednesday night preceeding Muhammad Ali and Scott LeDoux's infamous five-round exhibition that occured at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago on Friday December 2, 1977. Frank Mathie, for ABC's Channel 7 Eyewitness News, describes that Muhammad Ali has worked hard to hype this upcoming fight because it is a charity for The Children's Institute for Developmental Disabilities. The fighters of the first match are unidentified. The second match features Scott LeDoux, also known as The Fighting Frenchman, with another unidentified boxer (possibly Leon Spinks). Closeups show spectators watching the fights. The third clip shows Muhammad Ali standing next to the boxing ring, talking to the cameraman, and exchanging playful challenges with Scott LeDoux to rouse the audiences' amusement.
