Abstract
This footage contains scenes of three generations of the Koza family celebrating Christmas. There is a presentation of their Christmas tree with presents underneath, followed by footage of family dinner, present opening, drinking, and dancing to music.
Description
The film begins with a survey of the Christmas tree and the presents underneath. Those seated at the dinner table include Grandma and Grandpa, presumably Frank Sr.'s parents Joseph and Mary Koza, who were born in Bohemia in the 1860s and immigrated to the United States in the mid-1880s. Those at the table also include Frank Sr. and his wife Albina, their three children Frank Jr., Roland, and Thomas, a couple who may be Frank Sr.'s older sister Anna and her husband Joseph Bily, and a woman who may be Frank Sr.'s younger sister Christine. Judging by the age of Frank Jr.'s siblings, Roland and Thomas (who would have been about 18 and 13, respectively), this film may be Christmas 1944. At the end of the film, Grandpa is clearly having a good time drinking, swaying, and singing, and he is joined by Frank Sr. and Joseph Bily. The camera operator (presumed Frank Jr.) emphasizes their intoxication by moving the camera around in a rocking motion.
