The Raymond and Jane Dean Collection consists of films made and collected by the Dean family of Rockford, IL. Included with the collection is a spiral-bound notebook that describes some of the home movie reels in detail.
Creators
Dean, Jane (was created by)
Jane Dean (1921-2016) was born in Shenandoah, Iowa, but moved from Iowa to Rockford, Illinois, at a young age. Jane met her husband Ray in the Blackhawk Trails Club, a local hiking club, and she played cello in the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. In Rockford, Jane was employed as an administrator first for the Board of Education in Rockford, then Auburn High School, and Rock Valley Community College. After living in Rockford for 27 years, Jane and Ray moved to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where Jane was the Secretary Treasurer at Cobbly Nob Property Owner's Association. Jane was also President of the Gatlinburg Garden Club from 1977 to 1979, a sunday school teacher, organist, and treasurer at Webb's Creek United Methodist Church; and Chairman for the Wildflower Pilgrimage for 15 years.
