Abstract
The Immigrant (also called Broke) is a short comedy film starring the Charlie Chaplin Tramp character as an immigrant coming to the United States who is accused of theft on the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, and befriends a young woman along the way. It also stars Edna Purviance and Eric Campbell.

15:56 - a man across the room stares at them, sits with Broke and the man and introduces himself as an artist, wants to paint them, the waiter brings the artist back his change, Broke sneaks the change to pay his bill, ask for money in advance for modeling the next day
