Abstract
Silent home movie capturing the marriage of Tom Palazzolo and Marcia Daehn on December 22, 1968.
Description
The film begins with exterior shots of Saint James Chapel at 835 N. Rush St. in Chicago. Inside, Tom Palazzolo and Marcia Daehn exchange vows before about a dozen guests, shot in fast motion from various angles and distances. Father Robert Festal performed the ceremony ("Old School vows," according to Tom).

The film then cuts to a lively wedding reception, held at Marcia's apartment on Deming Street. The guests are again filmed in fast motion, mingling and drinking champagne. The next shot captures Tom and Marcia exiting the church and walking to Tom's VW Beetle. Back inside Saint James Chapel, Tom and Marcia mingle with guests in the doorway. We then see Marcia walking down the aisle in a pale blue minidress, followed by more footage from the ceremony, shot from a closer vantage point. The camera occassionally wanders away from the action, focusing instead of candles and other church features. Some of the action repeats, this time shot from the balcony. Exiting the church, Tom playfully attempts to give the cleaning ladies a hug.

Back at the reception, champagne is poured into glasses and distributed. Tom's friends John Heinz and Rodney Quiriconi—fellow Chicago filmmakers and artists—film each other with their 16mm Bolex cameras. Tom shakes and then kisses Marcia's hand. The film ends with bowling footage shot at Ford City on another day, double exposed with footage of the newlyweds feeding each other cake.
