These films were purchased in 2016 at an estate sale for Jane Julian Dean in Gatlinburg, TN, by staff at the Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound. They were donated to CFA in 2017 once it was discovered the Deans previously lived in Rockford, IL.
Access Restrictions
This collection is open to on-site access. Appointments must be made with Chicago Film Archives. Due to the fragile nature of the films, only video copies will be provided for on-site viewing.

Creators
Dean, Jane (was created by)
Jane Dean (1921-2016) was born in Shenandoah, Iowa, but moved from Iowa to Rockford, Illinois, at a young age. Jane met her husband Ray in the Blackhawk Trails Club, a local hiking club, and she played cello in the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. In Rockford, Jane was employed as an administrator first for the Board of Education in Rockford, then Auburn High School, and Rock Valley Community College. After living in Rockford for 27 years, Jane and Ray moved to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where Jane was the Secretary Treasurer at Cobbly Nob Property Owner's Association. Jane was also President of the Gatlinburg Garden Club from 1977 to 1979, a sunday school teacher, organist, and treasurer at Webb's Creek United Methodist Church; and Chairman for the Wildflower Pilgrimage for 15 years.
