Abstract
The Light Fantastic Picture Show is an experimental meditation on light, motion and sound that combines drawing, painting, collage, photography and stop-motion animation. The film includes scenes of a weaving loom, animations made from children's drawings, black-and-white stills of director Lillian Somersaulter Moats and pen-and-ink drawings by JP Somersaulter, among various other media. The Light Fantastic Picture Show is set to an original improvised score by the renowned jazz pianist Marian McPartland.
