Abstract
This footage by Mort and Millie Goldsholl is from around 1963 and it shows adults and children at an art fair, probably in or around Chicago. Among other things, the Goldsholls’ camera captures the movements of people from one stand to the next, their discussions with friends and family, the faces of children in the crowd, and the gestures of a man smoking a pipe in close up. Near the beginning, a section appears tinted in blue, in speed motion, as if to enhance the comings and goings of the fair’s visitors through the rhythm of the editing. Some other unedited footage of this art fair may be found in the Goldsholl collection at Chicago Film Archives, such as Art Fair and Art Fair [Work Print].
