Abstract
Outtakes from a newsreel about the supposed kidnapping and escape of 21 year-old heiress Jacqueline Gay Hart, who claimed to have been abducted by two men in New Jersey and driven to Chicago.
Description
Exterior shot of the Chicago Police Headquarters. Jacqueline Gay Hart walks through a crowded hallway then rests in a recliner, swathed in a blanket. She speaks but audio has not been recorded. An official recounts what Gay Hart told him about being abducted and is asked whether he believes the story. The woman's father, Ralph Hart — executive of Colgate-Palmolive Co. and Heublein Inc. — is interviewed outside of FBI headquarters, where a large crowd of reporters and civilians have gathered. He talks about reuniting with his daughter after the ordeal.

Gay Hart later retracted the story, admitting that she ran away to Chicago because of tensions over her forthcoming marriage to Stanley Noyes Gaines. She married Gaines and later became active in politics.
